Little Pavilion/ ICR Gallery/ Project Concept
A rezult. A continuation of the concept Ground 0 disclosed in the Romanian Pavilion, ICR Venice gallery space proposes a similar approach. If the Central Pavilion transposes the battlefield site resulted as a Playground where “battles for the leadership of the city” take place, such battles being generated by the semiotic field of the elements that allow multiple permutations according to perception, the gallery space was designed like a command bridge thereof, hereinafter its nomination as the HEADQUARTERS. This is the area where the important decisions related to the contextual disposition of the elements that will define some specific direction of the conceptual development will take place. The representation of the Headquarters takes specific elements from the Central Pavilion, namely two models representing tall buildings that are practical “swallowed” forcibly in the pavilion space, incorporating the existing pillars in the access area in the gallery. The orchestration of the possible games in the Romanian Pavilion is publicized in this exhibition space through a media presentation platform with projections from Pavilion’s Playground depicting aspects and variations of layouts for the scale models depending on the arrangement of separate methods, and the customized approach. Thus, the visitor is informed about events (Playground) which will take place in Giardinni Pavilion. Here he can receive cues about the Pavilion concept and documentary material that attracts him to visit the Biennale exhibition space. ICR space gallery shows in a simplified manner the outcome on a micro of the multiple permutations possible in the space of the Giardinni Romanian Pavilion. The simplified arrangement counts on the presence of the complex events taken out of the context and displayed in the Pavilion; it summarizes some of the defining elements of the architectural phenomenon in Romania. The two columns placed in the vicinity of the access area will be masked by the models of the two towers. On the side walls a story with reference to the tall buildings of the city will be presented. The topic of tall buildings was chosen in contrast with the space dimensions of ICR gallery; this is to highlight the discrepancy of the scale and the reported decontextualization existing space and neighbourhoods. Forced contextualizing in the city built limits is made explicit on a scale model presented in the exhibition. The walls are whitewashed while descriptions, diagrams and texts will be presented with black text. In the gallery is placed a table and 2 chairs for “advice” concerning architectural development issues and ways of composing, spatial decomposition and recomposition. The exhibition space of the ICR Gallery is 99% white.

Little Pavilion/ ICR Gallery/ Technical Description of the Project. The white scale models presented in ICR Gallery exhibition space are made on rigid wooden support on which sides are applied models in forex. The main model, showing areas of intervention in the urban tissue, is made of white plaster. The walls are painted in matt white. The floor of the Gallery stays as it is without significant changes. Similar to the intervention in Giardinni Pavilion at floor level, there will be text stickers applied locally and paintings reactive to light. The ceiling will be closed horizontally with drywall and painted in matt white snow. The exhibited pieces will be lighted through an independent facility.

pavilionul Mic / Galeria ICR / Conceptul proiectului
O rezultanta. O continuare a conceptului Ground 0 prezentat in descrierea Pavilionului Romaniei, spatiul Galeriei Icr Venezia propune o abordare similara. Amenajarea simplificata mizeaza pe prezenta decontextualizata a evenimentelor complexe expuse in cadrul Pavilionului si prezinta sintetic cateva dintre aspectele definitorii ale conturarii evolutiei fenomenului arhitectural in Romania.

Pavilionul Mic / Galeria ICR / Descrierea tehnica a proiectului. Peretii sunt zugraviti in culoare alb mat.
