Brief: Architecture can tell stories about different worlds… worlds perceive distinctly by our imagination. Everyones have a personal ways of interpreting the same story and a personal vision on ideatic facts. Sometimes few peoples have similar versions interpreting a specific state of mind. This can be the reason for surrealist movement to treat similar common subjects from one artist to another. The vision differ but the idea rests quite the same.
We live in a world of cubicles and short necessities looking fast satisfaction. Our ways tend to achieve the closest supermarket for basic needs. This is the word we know best…. i live in it, maybe you also did. We have a curious hunger for different things that runs wild our imagination. I often use to think, someone would say that’s dreaming, about waking up one day and take out of the window to go to my supermarket. Why to use each day the conventional door that always offer the same hypothesis? Why don’t open the door for seeing the neighborhoods? Architecture slightly permit some of these things. Nowadays we have big windows, similar in dimensions and aspect with doors. Somehow we can decide whatever ways to use but for specific situations: we usually do not use windows to get outside from 7th floor. But in imagination realm everything is possible. Reality and imaginary are close relatives. We can easily change the shape of our world by using our imagination.
The story begins one day when gravity suddenly disappeared. That day redefines architecture principles: walking on walls, fixing our furniture on ceiling and rise the height of our residential spaces. Somehow predicted by movies in early 2000 the multidimensional spaces brings space syntax to new ways of understanding. We obviously know about principles of gravity first in ancient times, later from Isaac Newton and later on by Nolan’s Inception. But how do we use this knowledge, can we transform fiction into reality? Apparently everyone knows something about gravity! Even Bosch represented a few hundred years ago in his paintings. Our age transform gravity and tested on the moon but never applied on earth. Does the context of massive urbanization be one of the challenges of our century? Or could be more… This should be the story of architecture that change the way of living and marked a crucial moment in human evolution, redefining our species.
Why do we need gravity? Apparently we don’t need it we just have it. It’s obviously easier for us to have only few marks than severals. The day gravity dissapeared was a rainy day in november. We still was capable to move normaly but we have the strange ability to walk on vertical surfaces. Everyone accustomed to the images promoted by moon conquerors believe in images describing the floating chaotically in all the directions. It wasn’t that way. Somehow our body adapt to spaces….it was an unusual molding of human body to architectural spaces. In a very strange way our body reacts through our brain to vertical obstacles like the bat during the night hunting. Right now it seems strange to describe something that I felt and see many years ago. The new way of living creates a new world. Communication was one of the key elements of that phenomenon. Many things were changed from that moment on. Sometimes I remember clearly the second moment of radical transformation of our ways of perceiving the space dimensions.
